Artist Statement

The work I would like to accomplish in the future will reflect the life I live in. My main passion is acting, and as an artist I would love to portray character’s stories and bring them to life in my own eyes. However as an actor, there is always that motivation to want to work in the field of producing and directing. My main inspirations come from the brutal times in life and what it means to overcome obstacles even if the solution seems out of reach. I also love the idea of telling funny stories through film and portraying that laughing truly is the best medicine regardless of the mood you are in. The two genres I’m mostly interested in are comedy and drama. Organizing and thinking of ideas about film interests me because I always felt that the things you couldn’t necessarily express in life, you can in film. Many people walk away from a great film and learn a valuable life lesson. Not only is it entertaining but also it is poetic. I want my film to execute many different characters and make the viewer understand the struggle of one life compared to the struggle of another. I would also love to execute the simple deepness that can derive from any human being. Life cannot always bring someone motivation and clearness, sometimes you need to pop in a film in order to feel like something or someone can understand you and that is what I think film is about. If I can help solve problems in the world through film then I will feel like my job is done. Some movies that motivate me are On the Waterfront, The Dark Knight, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, etc. Whether it is more of a simplistic film or dramatic film they both have struggles they need and hope to overcome.
